Event Overview: Are you ready for an adventure? Introducing the inaugural Freeport Conservation Trust “Super Mega Wicked Decent Trail Challenge”! Whether you're a seasoned runner or a hiking enthusiast, this event promises an exciting experience on the trails of Freeport, Maine.

Details:

  • Location: Freeport, Maine

  • Starting Point: 53 Depot Street, Freeport, Maine

  • Time: Check-in begins at 9:00 AM

  • Event Categories:

    • Race: Choose between the timed 5-mile or 10-mile race.

    • Hike: For those who prefer a leisurely pace and enjoy the challenge without the clock.

  • Trail Information:

    • Explore 5 FCT trails throughout Freeport.

  • Race Categories:

    • Race: 5-mile, 10-mile, or team.

    • Fun Trek: Compete for titles like oldest, youngest, or most tag stations visited.

  • How It Works:

    • Check in at the race headquarters.

    • Start and finish times will be recorded for each trail.

    • Complete trails at your own pace, adding up your total time for race placement.

    • Awards ceremony at 12:30 PM.

  • Registration:

    • $10 registration fee due on race day by cash or check.

    • Limited to 50 participants.

  • Fundraiser: Support the Freeport Conservation Trust by gathering pledges for your run on a per-mile basis. Pledges over $25 earn a free t-shirt!

What You'll Need:

This is a “Self Supporting Race”

  • Bring your own water.

  • Pack a light snack or granola bar.

  • Access to transportation between trail locations.

  • Consider bringing a phone for navigation and photos.

  • Wear appropriate footwear, such as running sneakers or light hiking boots.
